You give up weight savings, not space: 3 lbs empty, nylon ripstop, waterproof taped zippers, two insulated 32 oz holders, an umbrella sleeve, and the same reinforced base rails as the BP-1. Lifetime warranty for the original owner.
This is the bag for the player who’s outgrown a shoulder bag and doesn’t want to spend $150 finding out whether they’ll stick with it. Carry everything, decide later what you actually throw.
Two honest caveats. The strap hardware is the reported weak point — buckles are what fails first on this bag, not fabric. And like the BP-1, the structured bottom presses into your back. It also goes out of stock constantly, so if you see one in a colour you like, that’s the moment.
