Discraft

Disc Flight Numbers

Discraft manufactures and distributes discs used for the sports of disc golf, ultimate, and catch. The company was founded in 1983 by Jim Kenner who experimented with new designs to create a better disc golf experience. Today Discraft stands as a top disc golf manufacturer. Discraft flight numbers use an additional stability rating that is unique to Discraft, it is basically a “turn” rating of stability — overstable (+3,+2,+1), stable (0), understable (-1,-2,-3). They also add in decimal points to their stability ratings which is a little different from the other manufacturers.

Disc Flight Numbers

Speed

Speed indicates how fast or slow the disc flies, and how much power is needed to perform it's designed flight path.

Glide

Glide is a measure of loft. Discs with high glide rating will maintain more time in the air, maximizing the distance of your throw.

Turn

Turn describes how much a disc will flip, or rotate opposite the direction of the fade in the early part of the flight. The more negative turn the more the disc will "flip."

Fade

Fade describes the end of flight path the disc takes as it descends. High fading discs will finish at a sharper angle then low fading (straighter finish).
