About the Hawk

Hawk: Discraft’s stable mid-range driver

The Discraft Hawk is an understable midrange with an easy turn. Two of turn against two of fade means it drifts right, then comes back.

That makes it a turnover mid and a shaping disc. Four speed with three glide keeps it slow and controllable, so lower-power players get the whole flight and it lands soft rather than skipping. It flips to flat off a hyzer without wanting to roll. The low glide limits it. The Hawk does not carry the way a modern midrange does, which makes it a placement disc for shorter shaped shots rather than a distance mid.

What the numbers mean

Speed4How fast it has to be thrown
Glide3How long it stays in the air
Turn-2Right at high speed
Fade2Left as it slows down

Flies like…

How much the Hawk turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
