The Discraft Crank is a 13-speed distance driver that still bends. Two of turn against two of fade is a symmetrical shape: it works right through the middle of the flight and comes back at the end.
That makes it a distance driver for an arm that is already there. Thirteen speed is the entry fee. Given that speed, the turn is what makes the long S-curve available rather than a straight fade-out, and five glide is what converts the shape into yardage.
Below that arm speed it never turns at all. Without the power to get it up to 13 the Crank fades out early and short, and the two of turn you paid for never appears.
How much the Crank turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
Measured by the PDGA when the Crank was certified. Each card names discs that share the number, so you can feel it in the hand.
