STANCE: Balanced, Athletic, Position
The first thing Ricky talks about is your stance. He says that it’s important to be balanced and have an athletic stance. You want to be in a position where you’re comfortable and where you can generate power.
WEIGHT SHIFT: Source of Power
The second tip is all about your weight shift. Ricky says that your weight shift is the source of power for your putt. You want to make sure that you’re shifting your weight from your back foot to your front foot as you go through your putt.
ARM SWING: Stay on the Plane
The third tip is to keep your arm swing on the plane. You don’t want to get too high or too low with your arm swing. You want to keep it on the plane so that you can generate consistent power.
WRIST MOVEMENT: Wrist Creates Spin
The fourth tip is to use your wrist movement to create spin on the disc. Ricky says that a lot of people try to generate spin with their arm swing, but it’s really the wrist movement that creates spin. Not too much and not too little.
AIMING: Focus on Aim, Rely on Muscle Memory
The fifth and final tip is to focus on your aim. A lot of people tend to focus on their form, but if you don’t have good aim, then it doesn’t matter how good your form is. Make sure you’re focusing on where you want the disc to go and not necessarily on your form. Adjust aim for wind. Allow your
