About the Captain's Raptor

Captain's Raptor: Discraft’s overstable fairway driver

The Captain’s Raptor is an overstable fairway driver that finishes hard. Four of fade against three glide means it does not float — it drives forward, then turns left and drops.

That makes it a utility disc rather than a distance one. It holds a hyzer without flipping, cuts through a headwind, and works as a forehand that will not turn over. Nine speed keeps it reachable for most arms, and the low glide is what makes the finish predictable instead of drifty. What it will not do is go straight. With four fade and no useful turn, every throw ends left, so it is a shot-shaping disc and not a fairway workhorse.

Flies like…

How much the Captain's Raptor turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
