Dynamic Discs names baskets the way they name bags — by rank — and it works just as well. Marksman ($174.99) and Recruit ($299.99) are the portables; Patriot ($399.99) and Veteran ($474.99) are the course baskets.
The one to understand is the Recruit. Twenty-six chains, 13 inner and 13 outer, around 60 lbs, a two-piece pole, roughly two minutes to assemble, and a built-in wheel so you can move it without carrying it. It’s PDGA Standard approved, which means it’s legal up to B-tier events — a genuinely serious basket at $300. It is explicitly not built to live outside permanently, so bring it in.
Step up and the Patriot and Veteran are both PDGA Championship level with limited 25-year warranties against rust and corrosion — Veteran with 28 chains and a stainless upper assembly, Patriot with 26 and hot-dip galvanised chains. Dynamic’s own line is that the Patriot is “the same high quality as our Veteran,” and they don’t claim a performance difference. If you’re buying nine for a club course, that $75 per basket adds up.
