The Climo Champ is a neutral, speed-2 putter built for point-and-shoot putting, with enough torque resistance to double as a throwing putter off the tee.
Zero turn and zero fade is as straight as the numbers get: at putting speed it holds whatever line you release it on, and thrown harder it stays on that line rather than flipping or finishing hard left. Glide of 3 is middling for a putter, which suits a putt you want to die at the chains rather than sail past. Climo describes it as handling power without turning over, so a 300-foot arm can throw it flat and expect a straight flight with a soft landing, while a slower arm gets the same flight at shorter range. Headwinds will move it more than a beaded, overstable putter would.
It sits in the bag as the straight putt-and-approach disc, the one you reach for when the line to the basket is a line and not a curve. What it will not do is fight wind or finish with an emphatic hook: for that, players in the Climo lineup step up to the beaded Belleair. The Cliff is its beadless sibling with a touch of turn.
The Champ was one of the three prototypes that launched Climo Disc Golf in January 2025, and the name is Ken Climo’s nickname, earned over 12 PDGA World Championships. It has a flat-edge wing, standard depth and a small bead. PDGA approved January 20, 2025.
It ships in Trophy Line, including a softer Trophy Line blend and a glow Hall of Fame edition, and in Victory Line. TryDiscs lists it as beaded; Climo calls the bead a microbead.
How much the Champ turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
