The AGL Cypress is an understable distance driver and the disc that started the company. It was AGL’s first mould and its first PDGA approval, certified on 3 April 2017, and it has since gone out of production — the Cedar was molded to replace it. At speed 12 with a shallow rim it rewards a clean release over raw power, and it takes the turnover, roller and long anhyzer lines that overstable drivers refuse.
One thing to know before you buy a used one: the Cypress was not always this disc. The first run flew overstable at 12/4/0/3, and AGL later retooled it with a blunter rim edge into the 12/5/-2/2 shape listed here, aiming it at throwers of all skill levels. First-run and production-run Cypresses fly very differently, so check which one you are getting.
How much the Cypress turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
