The Discmania PDx is an overstable 11-speed distance driver rated 11/4/0/3. Discmania built it as the midpoint between two discs it already made: the PD (10/4/0/3) and the PD2 (12/4/0/4). It takes the PD’s controllable profile and adds a point of speed, without the PD2’s extra fade. Zero turn and a 3 fade mean it holds a line into wind and finishes left every time, backhand or forehand.
It started life in late 2015 as a fundraiser mould, went into stock production in 2018, and Discmania has since discontinued it — the PD and PD3 are the current options, and the PD3 (11/3/0/5) is the beefier of the two. Existing PDx runs still turn up on the secondary market. Glide of 4 keeps it from floating, so it is not a distance disc for slower arms; it needs power to reach its number and rewards a clean release rather than a hard one.
How much the PDx turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
