The Discraft Ares is a 12-speed distance driver rated 12/6/-1/2. Set next to the Zeus (12/5/-1/3) the differences are exactly one point each way: a point more glide, a point less fade. That is the difference between a disc that hooks and skips at the end and one that keeps pushing forward before a softer finish. Same rim width, same turn.
It was shown as the Zeus 2.0 before getting its own name, and it does behave like a Zeus for people who found the fade too early. Glide of 6 on a 12-speed makes it a tailwind and open-fairway disc; it is not the one to throw into a headwind, where the extra float works against you. Players without a distance-driver arm will find it turns over sooner than the Zeus does.
How much the Ares turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
