The AGL Beech is an overstable mid-range and the most unusual rim in the AGL bag. It carries a double bead and a distinct angle running from the flight plate down to the edge of the disc, which gives it grip on both forehand and backhand. With glide 2 and three points of fade it resists flipping in wind and hyzers on command, so it works as a utility mid for spike shots and forced fades rather than a straight-line disc.
Players who throw both tend to describe it as a Baobab you can actually get distance with — the same refusal to turn, spread over a midrange flight. Plastic matters here too: Woodland Beeches come flat, Alpine Beeches can carry more dome, and the extra dome buys glide.
How much the Beech turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
