The AGL Spruce is a stable mid-range with a beadless rim and a thinner profile than the rest of AGL’s mids. It flies straight with a gentle finish and, given enough power, will flip up to flat off a hyzer release without turning over. At 22.0 cm across it is the widest mould AGL has had approved, which is part of why it sits so flat in the hand.
The Spruce is a good example of how much AGL’s plastic changes a mould. In Alpine it comes domier and glidier; in Woodland it runs flatter and truer to the printed numbers. Woodland is AGL’s baseline, molded by Innova with 20–40% regrind of the same plastic used for Nexus, so the grippy, slightly soft feel is doing real work on an approach disc.
How much the Spruce turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
