About the Skyway

Skyway: Climo’s stable distance driver

The Climo Skyway is an overstable speed-11 distance driver, the wind and hyzer disc of the Climo lineup and, until the 12-speed Apogee arrives, its fastest mold.

The -1 turn shows only at full power: a strong arm throwing flat will see a little right movement before the 3 fade takes over and brings it left hard. Everyone else gets a driver that holds a hyzer from release and finishes with a reliable hook, which is what makes it a headwind disc and a forehand disc. Glide of 5 is moderate for the speed, so it does not carry the way an understable driver does; distance comes from power, not float. Slower arms will find it fades early and short, and would get more out of the Osprey.

It fills the overstable-driver slot, the disc for a headwind drive or a big spike hyzer that has to end left. The limit is that it needs an arm: under 300 feet of power it is a fairway-length disc that hooks.

The Skyway is named for the Sunshine Skyway Bridge across Tampa Bay, near Ken Climo’s Clearwater home. It was one of the three prototypes that launched the brand in January 2025 and was PDGA approved January 20, 2025. It is beadless, 21.1 cm across and 1.7 cm tall. Infinite Discs lists the glide as 4; Climo’s own rating of 5 is used here.

Ships in Major, Victory and Signature Line.

Flies like…

How much the Skyway turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
