The Dynamic Discs Contender is a 9-speed control driver rated 9/6/-1/1. Glide of 6 is the number that matters — it is a point higher than the Escape and Getaway that share its speed, so it hangs in the air longer on the same throw. A single point of turn lets it hold a pushing line without flipping over, and the 1 fade is a finish, not a hook.
In the Dynamic Discs 9-speed lineup it slots between the straight Escape (9/5/-1/2) and the much flippier Cavalry (9/6/-2.5/1). Hyzer-flips, smooth turnovers and flat placement drives are the job. It will not hold a line in a headwind and it will not skip — if you want the disc to check up hard at the end, the Getaway or Convict do that.
How much the Contender turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
