The AGL Madrone is a straight putter and AGL’s best-selling disc. It is a deep dish with a small thumb groove cut into the top for grip and control, and at 2.2 cm tall with a 1.7 cm rim depth it is the deepest mould in the lineup. Speed 3 with a single point of fade makes it a putting-line disc that will also hold a straight approach.
It is one of AGL’s two oldest putters, approved on 23 November 2018 with back-to-back PDGA certification numbers alongside the Manzanita — the straight one and the overstable one, registered minutes apart. The madrone itself is a Pacific coast tree with peeling red bark, and like every AGL disc it comes with a seed for the tree it is named after.
How much the Madrone turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
