The Discmania Function carries four points of turn, which Discmania say makes it the most understable driver they have produced. Rated 8/6/-4/1, it stands up early, rides right on six glide, and settles with barely a fade. It is beadless and slots in below the Essence (8/6/-2/1) for players who found even that one too stable.
That makes it a roller, a turnover disc, and a genuine distance option for slower arms — at moderate power it hyzer-flips to flat and carries. It takes a forehand cleanly. What it will not do is fly straight for a power thrower: with four turn, a flat release at speed is a roller whether you meant it or not. And it has no place in a headwind. If you want the same feel with some hold, that is the Essence.
How much the Function turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
