About the Wren

Wren: Stokely’s stable putt & approach

The Stokely Wren is a beadless, straight-flying putter, the putting putter of the Stokely lineup and one of the four molds the brand launched with.

The numbers describe a putter that does almost nothing at putting speed: -0.5 turn and 1 fade cancel each other over the length of a putt, which is the design brief Stokely gives for it, a disc that flies straight at slow speed so misses are not pushed left or right. Thrown harder off the tee it flips a touch and finishes with a gentle fade, so a strong arm gets a slightly S-shaped 250-foot flight while a slower arm gets a straight one. Glide of 3.5 is on the high side for a putter and helps it reach the basket on long putts. It is not a wind putter.

It belongs in the putting slot, with approach work from the same mold if you like one putter for everything. What it will not do is fight a headwind or finish hard: for that Stokely offers the Owl, and for a touch more stability in the same shape the beaded Finch.

The wren is a small, loud songbird, and the name follows the brand’s bird theme without a stated reason beyond that. PDGA approved February 19, 2024, the same day as the Cardinal. It is 21.1 cm across, 2.0 cm tall and beadless.

Ships in Strato and Thermo. Limited Edition Wrens were held back for retailer events and Scott Stokely’s own appearances for the first 18 months after launch, and a 2025 Strato run supported adaptive disc golf.

Flies like…

How much the Wren turns and fades depends on how hard it is thrown. These three shapes are drawn from the manufacturer’s numbers, not from measured throws.
